About Us
Motorcycle/Motorbike training for Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds Suffolk & Colchester. From CBT & DAS to Advanced all can be provided by the Academy Of Motorcycling who are dedicated to provide the best training possible 7 days a week.
The Academy Of Motorcycling has provided students with top quality instruction for over 6 years, initially starting with 1 Instuctor and 3 bikes. The School now has 6 Instuctors, 22 bikes and the best training facilites in the area. In addition we have just opened a new CBT Training site in Ipswich located close to Lings Motorcycle Dealers which will be in operation soon.
Based with MotoTechniks, Mill St, Stowupland the Academy is less than 2 mins drive from the A14, it is also well served by the local bus routes 87 & 87A.
The Academy Of Motorcycling is Driving Standards Agency (DSA) authorised & approved for Compulsory Basic Training (CBT), Direct Access (DAS), Enhanced Rider Scheme (ERS)/Advanced Riding Techniques, and Standard & Moped Test Training.
The Chief Instructor at the Academy of Motorcycling is Mr Dave Bowen. Dave is one of only a few motorcycle Instructors in the Mid Suffolk area to be DSA registered as a "Post Test Trainer" he holds a RoSPA Diploma in Advanced Motorcycle Instruction, is a RoSPA Gold Standard Advanced Rider as well as being a member of the Institute of Advanced Motorists IAM (Motorcycle Section). Dave has over 29 years of instructional and motorcycle experience behind him.
Instructors at the Academy are, Edward Peckham & Linsay Harrison who are both DAS & CBT DSA Carrdington qualified instructors who will be in charge of your training. In addition we have three extremely experianced motorcyclists, Andrew, Bob & Mike who are DSA approved CBT Instructors.
Stowmarket is the ideal location to undergo motorcycle training as it offers a vast array of different roads & junction types, all within close proximity to the Academy. In addition its within easy reach of the two test centres. At the Academy the theory sections of training are done in a fully equipt classroom with all the facilities on hand, in addition the Academy has one of the best off road training areas in Suffolk available 7 days a week, not only is it huge, well surfaced and totaly secure, its marked out to practice the New Part One Test and its in close proximity to the Academy.
