For riders 21 & over the Direct Access Scheme (DAS) is the quickest way to get a full motorcycle licence. Once you have successfully completed your test you can ditch your L plates and ride any capacity motorcycle and take a pillion.
Direct
Access Scheme (DAS) involves doing your training and practical
test on a motorcycle that produces at least 46.6 Bhp. All DAS training at
Academy will be conducted on Honda CBF 500 (with ABS) & Kawasaki ER6
& 5 motorcycles which have been modified for training purposes making
them extremly user friendly. Prior to DAS training all students must have
passed their Theory Test & completed a CBT.
We use the CBT as an assessment in order to recommend the best type of training
& its duration to suit you.
The Motorcycle Test is split into 2 Modules the first of which is done on an Off Road site and consists of 12 Manoeuvers, please watch the video below to see what's involved in the training & test. The Mod 2 is the On Road Ride which consists of a 35-40 Min ride followed by the DSA examiner who will give directions via a radio, it may include a hill and a angled start.
Weekday Module 1 (Mod1) Courses Mod1 courses consist of 10 Hours Quality Training over 2 days starting on a Mon or Tues morning and finishing with the Mod 1 Test late the following morning.
Weekday Module 2 (Mod2) Courses start on a Tues or Wed Afternoons and consist of 13 hours Quality Training over 3 days finishing with the Mod 2 Test early on the last morning. Please see below what's involved in the training & Test.
Combined Mod 1 & 2 Courses for confident riders, start with a Mod 1 and then flow straight into the Mod 2, by doing this you can save £30 however if the Mod1 Test isn't passed the Mod2 can't be taken and the test fee may be lost. (We will endeavour to cover this)
Individual Training can be completed on a 1-to-1 basis in blocks of 2 to 3 hours or a 4 hour session.
Module 1 Off Road Manoeuvres Our Off Road site has been marked to replicate the Official DSA test site & with our accurate speed measuring device it will enable you to practice ALL of the 11 manoeuvres realistically, no other training school in the area can offer this.

Please remember that both a CBT & the Theory have a 2 year life span. Also be aware that a Module 1 (specified manoeuvers) Pass Cerificate is only valid to the expiry date of your Theory Test. Theory Test training material is provided free to all course students.
To take your Theory & Practical test you require either the new 2 part licence or the old licence and a valid passport.
