Direct Access Scheme (DAS) for the Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk & Colchester areas
For riders 21 & over the Direct Access Scheme (DAS) is the quickest way to get a full motorcycle licence. Once you have successfully completed your test you can ditch your L plates and ride any capacity motorcycle and take a pillion.
Direct
Access Scheme (DAS) involves doing your training and practical
test on a motorcycle that produces at least 46.6 Bhp. All DAS training at
Academy will be conducted on Honda CBF 500 (with ABS) & Kawasaki ER500
motorcycles which have been modified for training purposes making them extremly
user friendly. Prior to DAS training all students must have passed their
Theory Test & completed a CBT. (which
is an ideal assessment in order to recommend the best type of training &
its duration. Very experienced riders can do their CBT on the 1st
day of the course however an assessment will be needed)
Weekday DAS Courses completed in a 3 day intense course organised within a week with both Tests Guaranteed during that week. Individual training can be organised if needed prior to the start of your course.
Individual Training can be completed on a 1-to-1 basis in blocks of 2 or more hours.
The New Motorcycle Test is split into 2 Modules the first of which is done on an Off Road site and consists of 11 Manoeuvers and the second is the On Road Ride.
Module 1 Off Road Manoeuvres Our Off Road site has been marked to replicate the Official DSA test site & with our accurate speed measuring device it will enable you to practice ALL of the 11 manoeuvres realistically, no other training school in the area can offer this. Course students please be aware if the Mod 1 isn't passed you can't take your Mod 2 and the test fee will be lost. We have 90%+ Mod 1 pass rate, if however, you don't pass you will be given 3 hours of Mod 1 training free of charge to ensure a pass next time. We can if requested defer a Students Mod 2 Test until Mod 1 is passed, however we can't then guarantee a Mod 2 Test date.
Module 2 On Road Riding consists of riding the bike on a 35-40 Min route followed by the DSA examiner who will give directions via a radio, it may include a hill and a angled start.
Please remember that both a CBT & the Theory have a 2 year life span. Also be aware that a Module 1 (specified manoeuvers) Pass Cerificate is only valid to the expiry date of your Theory Test. Theory Test training material is provided free to all course students.
To take your Theory & Practical test you require either the new 2 part licence or the old licence and a valid passport.
All courses will run from 09.00 hrs to 15.00 hrs (3.00 pm) a Full 6 hours of Quality Training per day unless stated otherwise.
