Recommendations from some of our Students

Hello Dave,
Thank you and your team for helping my son and me to get through the motorcycle tests. I was a bit apprehensive being somewhat older than my son but the course that you offered catered for both my son's needs and abilities and mine. You and your staff were very patient in dealing with our group of mixed ability and ages and I can honestly say it was a pleasurable experience throughout. The highlight of course being that we both passed our tests first time. I did a good deal of research before picking your centre and I am glad that I did.

The Direct Access course at the Academy of Motorcycling is superb. It is a three-day intensive training course which is excellent preparation for the two-part motorcycle test, giving you the confidence to do your best on the day. For both my training partner and me the test was easier than we thought due to the training provided. We both passed first time.

I would like to offer my sincerest thanks and appreciation to the guys at the Academy of Motorcycling.

I am a paramedic by trade and so have had to do a variety of advanced driver training and courses to enable me to do my job. This one however was just for me, and I can say without any doubt that the training I received under Ed's tuition taught me more about road awareness and road craft than any other course I have attended - and that's saying a lot.

I found the training to be extremely well structured, with each lesson building upon the last and thus inspiring confidence from the start. I won't mind admitting I was a little nervous when I arrived for training having done very little biking previously. Yet the guys were great. Training felt unhurried and I felt under no pressure what so ever to achieve the high standards aspired to.

I'd like to thank Dave for fitting me in for my CBT and DAS course at such short notice, and will be recommending the Academy of Motorcycling to anyone seeking training.

But a huge thanks to Ed. Your level of knowledge - which is shared freely and easily, inspired confidence in you from the off. Your patience saw me improve at my own pace for which I am extremely grateful and your overall attitude to training made me feel that no question was too stupid or irrelevant. I still laugh at all the great hints and tips you taught us too - especially when drying my gloves at McDonalds super powered hand driers!

I thoroughly enjoyed my training guys and can't thank you enough though I'll be back to do my enhanced rider training later on this year.

Once again, thanks very much indeed.
Stay safe.

Dave and Linsay, I offer you my warmest thanks for taking an ageing doctor
and helping him to put the wind in his hair (ok I do wear a helmet). To
everyone else I have no hesitation in recommending the Academy of
Motorcycling here in Stowmarket for the training and the friendship I
received while we worked together to train me: thank you very much.

I would like to say how professional I found you and your organisation to be whilst training me to pass my Motor-Cycle course through your Direct Access Course. I had never previously ridden a Motor Cycle on the road, but you and your staff gave me all the training and confidence required.

I am now the proud owner of the F800GS which we spoke about, and havent stopped smiling all weekend.

I would like to thank the staff and especially Dave Bowen at the Academy Of Motorcycling, for teaching an old dog new tricks.
Having not ridden a bike for 30 years, I arrived for my CBT realising I knew nothing except how to change gear (badly). and point a bike where I wanted to go.
The Academy got me through my CBT and DAS, in the space of 7 days. passing my module one and two at the first attempt.
I found the instruction to be intensive yet enjoyable, and the attitude of the instructors showed a desire to get the students through the tests but to also give a level of instruction that would give the student a level of ability to ride safely and competently on the road post test.
So thanks Dave, brilliant job getting me on my dream bike and a wealth of knowledge that will ensure I can stay on the said bike safely.

Best Regards

I would like to thank you for a thoroughly enjoyable direct access course.
I would like to give this recommendation to anyone considering taking a direct access course; start here with the CBT, get the right training to advance onto direct access. The Academy has the off road site that replicates module one, having just passed my tests first time I would say having the facility to practice is what settled me, a daunting experience for those who don’t have this facility. Module two is the next step, Academy provided on road experience with excellent tuition and Dave the owner even gets the coffee when you stop..... Overall I would recommend Academy for CBT, and direct access. I would have loved a recommendation such as this, as it may have quickened the process up for me. Good Luck for all those who take the next step and of course a big thank you to you Dave.

Best wishes

I had been training with another company and attempted my module 1 three times and failed! I wanted to find a training centre that could simulate the test and found the Academy of Motorcycling on the internet. I spoke with Dave who suggested I come and spend a couple of hours at their training site which is a direct replica of the real thing. He immediately identified my problem and a couple of days later I passed the module 1 and went on to get my full licence. Dave is brilliant, always patient and he gave me the confidence I needed to get through and I can honestly say I thoroughly enjoyed my training.

Karen (From Colchester)

I found the training provided excellent and Dave gave me great confidence for both tests. I passed both modules first time, picking up only one minor fault on module 1 and very happy to say that I got a clean sheet this morning on my module 2 test!! Happy days! Now to find myself a bike! :)

A huge thanks to Dave and Ed at The Academy of Motorcycling, for the expert training they provided on the Direct Access Scheme course. The sessions were excellently structured and delivered at a very accessible pace, giving me (a new rider), the skills and competence to confidently launch me on my two-wheeled adventure. The course not only allowed me to get my full motorbike licence, but I honestly believe that it has made me a better driver and road user. Thanks guys - I would recommend you to anyone looking for motorbike training!

James from Framligham

Thank you very much Dave and the team at the Academy Of Motorcycling' for my time training and taking the Direct Access scheme.
The training offered was very helpful, explanations given were very thorough and repeated as many times as needed and Dave showed amazing patience whenever I made mistakes.
I would not hesitate to recommend doing either the CBT or the DAS course, both of which I did at the Academy Of Motorcycling to anyone as they offered great training and very competitive pricing. Unlike a lot of other companies, the pricing was very clearly explained and contained no hidden costs.
Thanks again.
